IPFW Director Earns Distinction

A director at IPFW has earned a distinction which only a small number of people in the world have received. William J. Shustowski Jr., Ph.D, Associate Executive Director of Development at IPFW, has been named a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) by CFRE International. He is one of just 135 fund raisers in Indiana, and 5,400 world-wide, to attain that designation.

Individuals who attain the CFRE designation have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement, and a commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations. According to the CFRE International Web site, “They have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights. Initially, candidates must pass a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive.”

CFRE International is an independent organization whose mission is dedicated to the certification of fundraising executives by setting standards in philanthropy. The organization works in cooperation with leading philanthropic associations.
