Samuel Adams Brewhouse and Seattle’s Best Coffee open at airport

A new restaurant and coffee shop are landing at Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA), giving passengers a new option for casual dining and coffee beverages while traveling.

Samuel Adams Brewhouse and Seattle’s Best Coffee will hold a Grand Opening Celebration on June 13 at 11 a.m. on the first floor of the terminal to mark their completion on both sides of the TSA security checkpoint.

The Grand Opening Celebration will begin with opening statements from Tory Richardson, Executive Director of Airports, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and samples to follow. Guests will also be invited to sign up for a chance to win a “Backyard BBQ” gift package. This event is open to the public and the Airport Authority will validate parking for attendees.

“We’re looking forward to giving passengers somewhere new to relax and enjoy themselves while traveling,” said Scott Hinderman, Director of Operations and Facilities. “Not only will these restaurants be a valuable asset for FWA for years to come but they’ll create approximately 15 new jobs for the community.”

Planning for the restaurant and coffee shop began in February 2010 and construction on the $460,000 project was completed in just 5 months. The additions land FWA among airports like LaGuardia, Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in hosting the Samuel Adams Brewhouse.

The airport gift shop will also be housed in the newly renovated area. The shop will now offer an assortment of gourmet chocolates from DeBrand Chocolatier and will continue to carry a wide collection of Vera Bradley favorites.

The restaurant will provide a quality dining experience with burgers, wings, salads and dinner entrees. First Class Concessions will validate parking tickets for one hour of free parking if purchasing a meal at the restaurant. Samuel Adams Brewhouse will also offer a “Sam Adams On The Run” for travelers looking for a quick meal to go.

Seattle’s Best Coffee serves a variety of brewed coffee and espresso beverages, teas, and iced or blended beverages. The coffee shop will also offer sandwiches and light snacks.

The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority (FWACAA) was created in 1985 and is responsible for managing the Fort Wayne International Airport and Smith Field. For more information about the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority, visit www.FWAirport.com.
