Flights to Myrtle Beach begin Thursday

The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority is pleased to announce the return of non-stop service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina via Allegiant Air. The seasonal service between Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) and Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) will begin on Thursday, May 19, 2011.

Allegiant Air will operate two flights per week, departing FWA on Thursdays and Sundays at 12:55 p.m. and arriving at MYR at 2:30 p.m. Return service from MYR will depart at 10:35 a.m. and arrive into FWA at 12:15 p.m.

"Once again this year, the people of Northeast Indiana will have non-stop flights on Allegiant Air to the Grand Strand to enjoy all the activities it has to offer, as well as the many golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area," stated Dave Young, Vice President of Air Service Development for The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce. "Now when travelers arrive at FWA they can relax and enjoy a beverage at the newly opened Samuel Adams Brewhouse or Seattle’s Best Coffee before departure to sunny Myrtle Beach."
