I&M Encourages Energy Savings and Recycling

Speaking of energy efficiency, hats off to Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) as well. I&M has introduced an appliance recycling program for customers in Indiana. Customers can now recycle old, inefficient refrigerators and freezers and save up to $150 extra dollars a year in energy costs. Simply schedule a complimentary pick-up and you will receive a $30 incentive award.

The end result is to provide customers with energy and cost savings while encouraging proper disposal of old refrigerators and freezers that can consume two to three times more energy than newer units. With I&M's program, about 95 percent of the materials from the refrigerators and freezers is returned to the manufacturing stream. For more information visit indianamichiganpower.com/save.
