Chamber member Tim Armstrong Far Exceeds IRS Tax Preparation Requirements

We'd like to tip our hats to Chamber member EPCO Accounting & Tax Services, Inc. As the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) finalizes regulations for the qualification and testing of tax preparers that will take effect next year, Tim Armstrong and EPCO Accounting & Tax Services announced that Tim already holds a credential that exceeds the standards of any proposed regulations.

Armstrong has held the Accredited Tax Preparer Credential since 2007, which demonstrates a high level of experience in the field and verifies the completion of a rigorous examination that included testing on all aspects of this area of accounting and tax preparation.

The Accredited Tax Advisor® (ATA) credential is issued by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) and has been earned by practitioners who can handle sophisticated tax planning issues, including planning for owners of closely held businesses, planning for the highly compensated , choosing qualified retirement plans and performing estate tax planning. Their expertise covers tax returns for individuals, business entities, fiduciaries, trusts and estates, as well as tax planning, tax consulting and ethics.

This credential exceeds the Internal Revenue Service requirements for this area of practice.

"Timothy D. Armstrong, E.A., A.T.A. holds a credential that proves his expertise in an important area of accounting and tax preparation," said ACAT Board Member John Ams. "Everyone who earns this credential does so voluntarily, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to continuing professional education and quality client service."
