Well, if you have seen any of the business news headlines the last few days, I'm sure you've seen the name "Heritage Food Service" at least once or twice. Allow us to add our voice to the mix as we spread the word - the good news - that Heritage Food Service Equipment, a Chamber member, will be expanding in Fort Wayne, investing $1.5 million and adding 150 new positions. Heritage is a commercial kitchen repair parts distributor. They already have a little over 200 workers here in our city. According to Heritage's CEO, they are looking forward to growing their business in Fort Wayne - which is where they have their headquarters and distribution center (they have cites throughout southern U.S.).
Even Governor Mitch Daniels has weighed in, saying "Companies can prosper when they have the right business environment and the right workforce - Northeast Indiana has both."
Representative Randy Borror, whose district includes Fort Wayne, says “This is great news for Fort Wayne and the expansion will only increase the amount of business done in our community. The fact remains Indiana is continually finding ways to maintain and obtain jobs in our state. The plan made by Heritage Food Services to expand their business is a tremendous opportunity to improve our economy. This news is also great for the workers in Fort Wayne and Hoosiers around the state.”
