Feet on the Street: Change is the Only Constant

The folks at Southwest Self Storage held a ribbon cutting earlier this year to celebrate their newest addition to Fort Wayne Storage.

Mark Cockroft, one of the owners, shared with me that much of their recent growth is credited to their General Manager, Kyle Zimmerman.

Kyle is their “PR Guy” so to speak – so much so that his photo is displayed on their moving van which, by the way, they loan to their customers free of charge for the day offering a much needed convenience.

I learned from speaking with Kyle and Mark that their industry offers many opportunities to hear people’s stories ….. Think about it, most of their customers are in a state of transition; experiencing change -- which we all know can be difficult at times and can be emotional.

They often find themselves offering a listening ear in addition to the storage service they provide.  So I guess you could say they’re kind of like bartenders but instead of “the usual” they serve a listening ear…..
