Indiana Benefits Recovery Helps WWII Veteran Claim $20,000 in Funds

Local Chamber member Indiana Benefits Recovery had a recent triumph when a WWII veteran was awarded over $20,000 in unclaimed funds. Brent Minnick, founder of Indiana Benefits Recovery, presented a check for $20,000 to war veteran Luther Francis and his wife, Novake on Wednesday, August 5th. The large check for the presentation was created by fellow Chamber member Greg McCrory of McCrory Publishing.

Eighty six year-old Francis, a former corporal of the 1st Armored Division of the United States Army, served under famed General George S. Patton, earning 3 major battle stars for combat in North Africa and Europe.

Indiana Benefits Recovery discovered that Francis was beneficiary to a past real estate transaction, netting him over $20,000. Together Minnick and Francis also also uncovered an additional $1,225 in a local dormant bank account once held by Arthur Francis, Luther’s late brother.

The check was presented to Francis along with an American flag in a brand new oak flag box to show appreciation for his six plus years of military service, including 32 months overseas.

Indiana Benefits Recovery (IBR) identifies sources of funds and then contacts Hoosiers, or in some cases, former Hoosiers, who have funds in the unclaimed surplus pool. Through personal one-on-one contact, the client is taken through the process of claiming the funds. Some claims recovered by IBR have been settled as quickly as one week from notification to check in hand. IBR is registered with the Indiana Secretary of State.
