Two military members will be flying home this holiday season to spend time with their families:
- Specialist Adam J. Bowser of the United States Army
- Mark Miller II, E2, of the United States Navy
"We are happy to be able to once again bring home two military members for the holiday season," said Dave Young, Vice President of Air Service Development of the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce.
Laura Bowser, mother of Specialist Adam J. Bowser, was delighted to hear that her entry was chosen to bring home her son.
"Words cannot begin to say how very thankful I am to WAJI 95.1, the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, and the Fort Wayne International Airport for selecting to bring my son, Specialist Adam J. Bowser, home for Christmas," Bowser said to Dirk and Jeanette of WAJI, Magic 95.1. "Last year, 10 days before Christmas, Adam returned from his first tour in Iraq and his safe return was the best gift ever that year. This year I have been blessed with the best gift a parent could ever ask for and that is possible because of you. Your gift means so much and I couldn't let the morning go by without thanking you for this special blessing that you have given."
"Spending time with family during the holiday season and sharing memories of past holidays as well as creating new ones is a gift, in and of itself, and Fort Wayne International Airport is thankful that we are able to give that gift to two of our military members this year." said Torrance Richardson, Executive Director of Airports of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority.
The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority (FWACAA) was created in 1985 and is responsible for managing the Fort Wayne International Airport and Smith Field. The Authority is governed by a six–member board appointed by both the Mayor of Fort Wayne and the Allen County Commissioners.
