Enrollment Surge at IPFW

A record number of IPFW students returned to the school this fall to enjoy new apartments, fresh education, and a revamped orientation program. In total, 14,192 students enrolled for the fall semester, an increase of 3.8 percent from the record 13,675 enrolled at the same time last year.

Chancellor Michael Wartell notes the increase in enrollment can probably be contributed to the growth of residential housing. Currently 17 percent of the student body comes from outside Indiana. Eleven years ago only 8 percent of the student body were out-of-state students. It’s thanks to the increasing enrollment that IPFW has been able to avoid the effects of Gov. Mitch Daniels’ cuts to higher education from last year.
