Feet on the Street: Scary Chairs and Hamburgers

By Teresa Royer, Member Relations Specialist

One of the things I enjoy about my work at the Chamber of Commerce is being able to go to fun events like the Scary Chair Contest Jack Laurie Floors had last week at their business furniture location at 1515 North Harrison Street.

The Scary Chair contest is where the public was invited to send a photo of their scary chair into Jack Laurie Floors to post on their Facebook page – then folks could vote on the scariest chair  - whoever had the most votes won a brand new chair compliments of Jack Laurie Business Furniture.  Would you believe they allowed for 12 winners – giving away 12 brand-new chairs!

Before they announced the winners, John Laurie announced they will soon be moving their business furniture line from their present location on Harrison Street, and everything in the store needs to be liquidated.  As I write this, everything is marked down 50%, but John was very clear when he said, “make an offer.”  (i.e. everything must go!)

So I encourage you to stop by their business furniture location at 1515 North Harrison Street – they have everything it takes to furnish an office to make it functional, attractive and comfortable – filing cabinets, lamps, desks, plants, décor, and of course Chairs!

If you didn’t hear about the Scary Chair competition, don’t worry because they are planning more fun competitions for the public to get involved in.

I first learned of Jack Laurie Floors when I visited their showroom on Auburn Road and have learned they are very competitively priced and I congratulate them on their business furniture line and am excited for their future!

You can see the scary chairs submitted for the contest and learn more about Jack Laurie Floors at their Facebook page. While you’re at it, become a fan.  I know I am!

Did I mention that even Channel 15 was there to feature the event? Check that out here.

(By the way John cooks a mean hamburger – they fed everyone lunch too!)
