See You Tomorrow for the "Longest Drive"!

Don't forget to head out to FWA tomorrow afternoon for a unique opportunity to take a shot at a world record. In continued celebration of non-stop flights to Myrtle Beach, SC, the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority (along with us) is hosting an attempt to break the world record for the "longest golf drive." This will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 26 from 3-7 p.m. on the ramp at the Air Trade Center (corner of Coverdale Road and International Drive).

You will not only have the opportunity to hit your own longest drive, but you will also be able to register to win a number of prizes, including roundtrip airfare to Myrtle Beach provided by Allegiant Airlines, a travel golf bag courtesy of Bobicks, and rounds of golf from Brookwood Golf Club. Distances will be determined using the services of Anderson Surveying Inc, with trophies being given to the longest drive by a male and female participant. Click here for more info!

P.S. Congrats to the Airport Authority!
Yesterday the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The award is for the significant accomplishment of completing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2008. Find a copy of the 2008 CAFR at www.fwairport.com
