The Growth Coach, a business coaching franchise system in North America, has just released an interesting study indicating that small business owners will be doing more hiring, less firing, for the remainder of 2010.
The Growth Coach corporate headquarters conducts a survey quarterly to capture a snapshot of the "economic mindset" of the thousands of small business clients that Growth Coach coaches serve. According to the survey, areas across the U.S., including Fort Wayne, are starting to show signs of job growth.
Thirty-seven percent of business coaches that participated in the survey, including Jim Wyrostek (owner of Fort Wayne's Growth Coach and a Chamber member), reported that their small business clients (100 employees or less) plan to hire new employees during the second, third, or fourth quarter of 2010. In addition, of the open positions small business owners plan to fill, thirty-six percent will be new jobs to support growth and forty-four percent will be replacement positions for previous employees.
As small business owners prepare to hire new employees, the survey also highlights that seventy percent of small business owners have no plans to lay off any additional employees during the remainder of 2010.
So there's some good news to contemplate as you enter the weekend. Have a good one!
