I was out to Hoover the Mover the other day and met with the owner, Bill Raftree. The business is actually two-fold: Hoover the Mover and All Seasons Storage.
Bill said that Hoover the Mover is also the local agent for North American Van Lines. A true sign-of-the-times is that many appointments for estimates are booked by North American Van Lines’ call center where folks wanting an estimate can call any time day or night, weekends included, to schedule an appointment - they don’t have to wait to call during business hours.
This led to a conversation about convenience being the driving force of the way people do business these days, i.e. online scheduling, banking, bill paying, etc. Bill mentioned that he even gets online greeting cards from his kids rather than “old fashioned” snail-mail cards and I know he is in good company in that regard.
Anyway, Bill has a classy operation and has been in the business many years and is obviously professional.
If you’re ever in his office, be sure to check out the beautiful baby grand piano in the corner. It’s not only a baby grand, it is a Packard made in Fort Wayne in 1928! – It’s awesome! Bill plays piano as well...
So if you or someone you know needs something moved or stored, give the folks at Hoover the Mover a call at (260) 459-6926.
