Don't miss the next in the City's series of free small business workshops, taking place tomorrow, April 15 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the Omni Room at the City-County Building. This workshop is for potential and current business owners interested in finding out what is involved in owning and operating a franchise.
Jim Gleason, regional president of FranNet, will be the workshop’s presenter. Based in Indianapolis, he connects Hoosier entrepreneurs with franchises that fit the potential business owners’ skills, interest and financial ability. Topics to be covered include:
· Evaluating a franchise as a way to start a business
· First-time business owners and franchise operation
· Diversification for current businesses
· Advantages to owning, operating a franchise
· Downsides to the franchise business model
These workshops are hosted by the City of Fort Wayne in cooperation with the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Enterprise – A Program of the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau, Small Business Administration, SCORE, Community Development Corp. and the Indiana Small Business Development Center.
