Fort Wayne residents are invited to complete an online survey as part of the City’s process to update downtown development and design standards. The downtown design survey will provide public input on different building and site design topic areas.
The survey is available at www.CityofFortWayne.org/DesignSurvey and the deadline for responses is Nov. 4. You can also access the survey at http://www.cityoffortwayne.org/forms/downtown_visual.php.
A cross-functional internal City team has been working on an update to downtown design standards and guidelines at the direction of City Council. An advisory group made up of external stakeholders is also assisting in the project. Survey participants will have the opportunity to evaluate things like facades, lighting, parking options and landscaping.
The downtown design standards project will become an amendment to the City’s zoning ordinance and the creation of a comprehensive downtown design manual, which will provide design direction and guidance to architects, property owners and developers as well as assist staff and the Plan Commission in reviewing new development and redevelopment projects in downtown Fort Wayne.
