The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Commissioner Thomas Easterly recently presented City of Fort Wayne representatives John Urbahns and Gary Lyman with an award for achievements in the category of "Land Use" during the 2009 Indiana Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence ceremony.Fort Wayne redeveloped a downtown brownfield site into the new ballpark stadium, Parkview Field, for the Fort Wayne TinCaps minor league baseball team. The old site was underutilized property covered with substandard housing and asphalt parking lots. Parkview Stadium held the first game on April 16, 2009 and is valued at $30 million.
