Make an Impact: Volunteer for the 17th Annual Day of Caring

United Way of Allen County is seeking work projects and volunteers for the 17th Annual Day of Caring, which takes place August 14, 2009. This year's Day of Caring will focus on neighborhood revitalization within 13 neighborhoods selected in cooperation with the City of Fort Wayne's community development staff. Projects will include cleaning, painting, landscaping or interactive activities at non-profit agencies, schools, childcare centers, after-school youth programs and churches.

Approximately 1,000 volunteers take part each year to help improve our community. Project proposals can be submitted by social service agencies, neighborhood association presidents, churches and the City of Fort Wayne's Neighborhood Code. Project forms are available at UnitedWayAllenCounty.org or by calling (260) 422-4776. Project submissions are due June 12, 2009. Proposed projects falling outside the selected neighborhoods will also be considered.
