The Allen County-Fort Wayne Historical Society (the History Center) has sold copies of two images of the Fort Wayne Friars Football Team from the early 1900s. The first image, from 1910, features the Fort Wayne Friars during their years as a club team. The second features the Friars in 1915 as a professional team sponsored by a local organization.
The Indianapolis Colts have purchased the copies to display in the northeast corner of the Lucas Oil Stadium along with other highlights of Indiana’s early professional football history. Other highlights include images of the Hammond Clabby’s, the Hammond Pros, the Evansville Crimson Giants, and the Muncie Flyers.
