It is “out with the old and in with the new” inside the Memorial Coliseum arena, as workers are currently installing a new, state-of-the-art video scoreboard. The new, four-sided scoreboard will include hi-resolution LED video and 360-degree, circular LED ribbon displays at the top and bottom of the structure. Other components to the project include a video control room for the new scoreboard and wiring to connect the scoreboard to the control room, press box and camera positions. Cameras located directly above hockey goals and the center circle will also be added. The system’s capabilities will include replay, slow motion and enhanced graphics.
