2008 Ozone Knockout

With everyone making small changes in their professional and personal habits, entire companies can make a difference in air quality.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) invites Hoosier employers to get ready to rumble during 2008 Ozone Knockout, a public awareness campaign devoted to encouraging employers and their employees to do simple things every day to help clear the air.

Ozone contributes to poor air quality in Indiana, which can affect business activities and even economic development. Suggested activities that a business can implement to deliver a knockout punch to ozone are:
· encourage carpooling
· institute a recycling program
· allow employees to work a flexible schedule to avoid traffic and reduce idling
· notify employees of Air Quality Action Days
· Install a bike rack, or provide a secure place for employees to park their bicycles

For more ozone reducing tips for businesses and employees and information on the 2008 Ozone Knockout visit ozoneknockout.IN.gov. IDEM will publicize local businesses that are engaged in a positive change to clear the air during the 2008 Ozone Knockout.
