On August 2, 2010, Comcast is officially launching its new technology platform in Indiana. XFINITY is the new brand for Comcast’s technology platform, products and services with Comcast remaining the name of the company. This launch follows a year of preparation and a massive statewide investment as Comcast has readied the platform to deliver the upgrades customers are demanding.
Comcast currently provides service to more than 700,000 customers throughout the state and houses its regional headquarters in Fishers, Indiana. Comcast employs approximately 2,100 individuals statewide. Since 2007, Comcast has invested more than $500 million in Indiana for network upgrades, new construction, land and equipment purchases and personnel costs.
As active members of the community, Comcast invested more than $7 million in 2009 in Indiana sponsorships, grants, and in-kind donations. Every year, Comcast honors selected Indiana high school students with $1,000 Leaders & Achievers scholarships, with more than 550 students throughout the state receiving Leaders & Achievers scholarships since 2001.
