Parkview Cancer Awards to Honor Caring Community Members

The Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center is offering you the opportunity to honor someone you know who has made life better for someone who has cancer. Whether that person has made an impact by running errands, leading a support group, providing medical care, any number of meaningful actions, you can recognize that individual's compassion, dedication and generosity by nominating them for the Parkview Cancer Award. The Award was created in 2009, and highlights efforts by healthcare professionals, laypeople, cancer survivors, and other community members.

You can nominate an individual or even a group. Your nominee(s) must have provided extraordinary service in any of the following areas:

• Providing encouragement, compassion or hope
• Developing a unique solution
• Creating a healthier environment
• Educating the public and/or lobbying for patient-focused change
• Creating easier access to services and screenings

The nomination deadline is April 30, so just a few weeks left. You can find a nomination form here

Here's an additional tidbit - not only will the winners be honored at the award ceremony at the Cancer Center, but they will also receive a unique work of art created by a local artist! Also, framed photographs of winners will be on display at the Center for a year. Past winners' photos and stories are scrap-booked and kept in the Center's resource library.

For more information on this award, contact Debi Kennedy, community outreach coordinator, at (260) 266-9180.
