Requesting Women’s Initiative Members

Chamber member, United Way of Allen County, is seeking members to join their Women’s Initiative, a dedicated group of local women philanthropists focused on strengthening the community through leadership, fundraising and advocacy. The group currently has about 75 local women leaders, with Kris Foate and Chris Rupp as Co-chairs.

Recently, Women’s Initiative members have begun devoting their energies to help children enter school prepared to learn. The Women’s Initiative is a powerful part of United Way’s three-pronged effort to close the reading achievement gap by the third grade through attention to prenatal care, early literacy and in-school tutoring.

If you are interested in learning more please visit www.unitedwayallencounty.org or contact Robin Holley at 260.422.4776 or robinh@uwacin.org.

All of this is enhanced by the feeding frenzy of our different media outlets looking to grab your attention to boost their ratings in hopes to sell more advertising!
